Percy Pukeko in Dunedin snow covered cabbages. Made by Mosgiel librarian Anne Dunkley. Anne filled the feet with pellets to the delight of her cat, who enjoyed the crunch when she chewed!!

This family of pukeko were stitched by Loris McMillan of Tuakau
Close up of the pukeko on the left. Notice the bright blue eye and felt beak which has had her mouth embroidered on. The legs have a thin strip of needle punch inside. If you look carefuly in the pic at left you'll see a second garden pukeko hiding in the back!
Left - Loris has made her pukekos with a new look too. She has knotted the legs half way up, making knobbly knees.
Note that Mum Pukeko is all dressed up for a day out - pearls and all!
